Tottenham Hotspur have completed a deal to sign Brennan Johnson from Nottingham Forest.
The Athletic reported earlier today that the two Premier League clubs had come to an agreement over a fixed fee of £47.5million ($60.3m).
Forest will also retain a 10 per cent sell-on clause as part of the deal.
The 22-year-old Wales international has signed a five-year contract with the option of a further 12 months.
Johnson was Tottenham head coach Ange Postecoglou’s number one target as the north London side sought to bolster their attacking ranks.
The forward will wear the No 22 shirt.
Tottenham return to action against Burnley at Turf Moor on Saturday.

What are Spurs getting with Johnson?

As a teenager, Forest tried to utilise Johnson as a central midfielder, to utilise his comfort in possession and his ability to drive forward. They experimented with him as a central forward, in an attempt to make the most of his searing pace.
It was only during a loan spell at Lincoln, in League One in 2020-21, that Johnson properly evolved into the player he is today, as his speed and directness helped him to plunder ten goals.
Since then, it has been from a position wide on the right that Johnson tormented Championship defences under Steve Cooper – scoring 18 goals and providing 10 assists as Forest won promotion – and has then found his feet in the Premier League, providing eight goals and three assists as they edged their way to safety last season.
Johnson’s main weapon is his speed; his ability to carry the ball with urgency and purpose – an attribute that is useful at any level of the game.
It took time for him to find his feet last season. But, if he can continue the upward curve that has seen him flourish in League One, the Championship and then the top flight over the last three seasons, he is equipped to make a big impact in north London.
