Scott McTominay was on the scoresheet for Scotland again yesterday and Manchester United fans were loving it.
Scotland continued their incredible push for a place at the 2024 European Championships with a comfortable 3-0 win at Cyprus. Steve Clarke’s side now have 15 points from five games and are favourites to progress.
McTominay opened the scoring on the night at the AEK Arena, heading home from close range after just six minutes. The United midfielder also got an assist, laying off to John McGinn to make it 3-0 after Ryan Porteous had scored.
In finding the net on Friday evening, McTominay scored his sixth goal of Euro 2024 qualifying to become the joint top-scorer, alongside Romelu Lukaku and Rasmus Hojlund. And by getting an assist, the 26-year-old is out in front for overall goal involvement.

The midfielder is finding minutes hard to come by at club level but continues to star for his country. And United fans were quick to share their reaction on social media.
Despite a lack of regular football at United, McTominay continues to impress when on international duty. The midfielder played more last night than he had done so far this season at club level.
Speaking ahead of Friday’s clash, Scotland boss Steve Clarke detailed conversations with the Reds midfielder regarding his lack of regular involvement.
“I’ve had one or two conversations with Scott already about how the season might pan out. It’s similar to Kieran [Tierney] last year,” Clarke said. “It’s important when they’re at a club and not playing regularly that they train very hard and work very hard and, when they do get the minutes, do everything they can to be successful.
“Everybody is different. Scott will deal with it differently to Kieran, and to Billy [Gilmour], but as long as they keep on turning up for Scotland doing what they do, we should be happy with that.”
