Lionel Messi and Antonela Roccuzzo have spent months exploring South Florida to find their perfect home and the Inter Miami star has made his decision on an eight-future waterfront mansion
Lionel Messi has purchased an incredible waterfront mansion in Florida
Lionel Messi’s house hunt in Miami is over after striking an eight-figure deal for a spectacular waterfront mansion.
The Barcelona legend has taken America by storm since debuting for David Beckham’s MLS franchise Inter Miami in July, leading the team to their first-ever piece of silverware in the Leagues Cup before sparking an unlikely playoff charge.
In his three months in South Florida so far, Messi and his family have been staying at the trio of luxury condos he owns in Sunny Isles Beach. But he and his wife Antonela Roccuzzo have spent their free time hunting for a permanent home fit for arguably the greatest footballer of all time.
The couple have been exploring the most exclusive neighbourhoods in and around Miami, including Fort Lauderdale Delray Beach and Boca Raton, which are home to some of America’s most rich and famous.
Messi has settled on an eight-bedroom estate in Fort Lauderdale’s Bay Colony, according to The Real Deal. The gated community property at 91 Compass Lane spans 10,500sqft and cost Messi and Roccuzzo $10.8million (£8.6m). The couple has bought the home from John and Stacy Dickerson, who made a cool profit in the deal having acquired the property for $9m (£7.1m) just 16 months ago.
Spread across 0.4 acres, Messi’s new home boasts two docks and 170ft of water frontage. And, of, course, there is a luxurious swimming pool. Inside, there is a gym and spa, plus an Italian kitchen, according to a listing when the home was up for sale last year.

The open-plan interior only makes the massive home feel even more palatial, and the master bedroom alone is 1,600sqft. There are seven other bedrooms, nine and a half bathrooms and a three-car garage. It is also in a hugely convenient location, too, situated just five minutes away from DRV PNK Stadium, where Inter Miami plays and trains.
Messi is on international duty with Argentina as their qualifying campaign for the 2026 World Cup gets underway. The 36-year-old, who inspired his country to World Cup glory in Qatar in December, continued his sensational form in the opening qualifier against Ecuador on Thursday, scoring a brilliant late free-kick to secure a 1-0 win.

Get the Inter Miami shirt
Lionel Messi has made an instant impact in the MLS since his move to Inter Miami. Helping the club to cup glory and firing them up the table, Messi is once again the most talked about player in the game and now you can get the stylish Adidas made Inter Miami home and away shirt.
However, he was substituted in the closing stages with an injury and it remains to be seen whether the former Paris Saint-Germain star will feature in Tuesday’s game against Bolivia. Argentina and Messi have travelled to the high-altitude city of La Paz, where it is sure to be a gruelling night on the pitch.
It is unclear what Messi’s issue is, but head coach Lionel Scaloni has downplayed the significance of it, and Inter Miami would certainly be pleased if their superstar returned from international duty without any more miles on the clock as they eye a late run at the MLS playoffs.
