Jakub Kiwior has been left amazed by Mikel Arteta ‘s attention to detail since joining Arsenal back in January.

Kiwior, 23, arrived at the Emirates from Spezia in the winter transfer window and made a handful of Premier League appearances as the Gunners battled Manchester City for the domestic crown last term.

The versatile Poland international looks set for a more prominent role this year in the wake of the serious injury sustained by Jurrien Timber and started the recent 2-2 draw against Fulham at left-back.

Whilst Kiwior is still settling into life at the Emirates, he has already been impressed by the calibre of his new manager.

During an interview with Sky Sports, Kiwior was asked for his thoughts on Arteta and said: “I’m going to say what all the other players say - that the relationship and co-operation is extremely good, and his tactics as well. He is able to convey what he means very well. Even if I wanted to say something negative, there is nothing negative to say.”

Kiwior was aware of the Spaniard’s creative team-talks following the club’s Amazon ‘All or Nothing’ documentary, but the defender has been wowed by the attention to detail that Arteta provides his team with.

He added: “It’s very different to what I was used to. Coming here, it’s the first time I’ve seen this final meeting before going out on the pitch look like it does here. It’s certainly something new.

“I was quite surprised that something like this was even possible, that a coach could come up with these concepts to shape our attitude to the game through all sorts of competitions and challenges to focus our minds.”

Kiwior’s comments are eerily similar to those made by Arsenal captain Martin Odegaard earlier this year, with the Norwegian international lauding Arteta’s meticulous approach.

Speaking back in March, Odegaard said of Arteta to TV2 : “It has surprised me, actually, how detail-oriented he and the whole team are. I’ve never encountered anything like it, with people who see football that way and who see details as specifically as he does.

“It can be simple little things or more big things. It’s extremely detailed and a lot of little things we talk about, watching video after every game and all that. It’s fun working with him and the team. It works.”
