Manchester United could sign yet ANOTHER goalkeeper after Andre Onana’s error-strewn start.
The Cameroonian stopper was signed for big money from Inter Milan in the summer. The Red Devils paid £47m, with the former Ajax star penning a five-year deal at Old Trafford in the process.
He has immediately been installed as United’s number one between the sticks but it hasn’t been the start to life as a Red Devil that he will have wanted. Onana was lucky to not concede a penalty on his debut against Wolves, whilst his error against Galatasary led to Casemiro being sent off.
Now, Chris Sutton has suggested that United could potentially head into the transfer market once again to sign another stopper, who would prove to be an improvement on former long-term No.1 David de Gea. As quoted by Mail Online, the former Blackburn and Chelsea striker said: “I think he’s a downgrade on De Gea. I really do. I’ve seen enough of him. Is he better than De Gea with his feet? Probably, only just.
“But I’m more interested in him keeping the ball out the back of the net and I think he’s made a lot of blunders this season. A lot of goalkeeping errors.
“You go to the game against Bayern Munich, a couple of errors, and even the game this week [against Galatasaray] where I thought the third goal, he went down so early.

“’I’m not so sure about him. I think Manchester United will make a change. I’m not saying this season but I think at the end of the season they need to get an upgrade on Onana.”
Onana was not the only goalkeeper that the Red Devils moved for in the summer as they overhauled the position. Altay Bayindir also arrived from Turkish side Fenerbahce.
The 25-year-old has yet to make his debut for his new club. Erik ten Hag has explained why the summer recruit has not been afforded an opportunity. “You will see [if Bayindir gets a chance to play soon], but we chose against Crystal Palace in the League Cup to play Andre because both came new in and both have to adapt to the English standard,” he revealed ahead of the clash against Galatasaray.

“So that’s why we preferred Andre to play in that game. It’s important for him to use every game in this moment, but yeah, we also have to progress Altay, that’s clear.
“He makes a very good impression in training, he’s really developing, progressing. So we’re very happy with that and we are convinced we have the two right goalkeepers in our squad to do the job for us.”
