UEFA have postponed all scheduled matches in Israel and said they will continue to monitor the ongoing situation in the country over the coming weeks.
Israel has declared a state of war following an attack by Palestinian terror group Hamas on Saturday morning.
At least 600 Israelis have been killed, according to local media, with at least 370 Palestinians killed in the Gaza Strip following retaliatory attacks.
More than two thousand people on each side have been injured.
Israel’s national team were scheduled to play against Switzerland in a European Championship qualifier in Tel Aviv on Thursday but that will now not go ahead. Israeli Premier League matches this weekend were already postponed.
European Under-21 Championship qualifiers between Israel and Estonia and Germany in October have also been postponed, as has a under-17 mini tournament involving Israel, Belgium, Gibraltar and Wales.
UEFA say they will take a few more days to assess whether the European Championship qualifier between Kosovo and Israel can take place on the originally planned date of October 15 or requires postponement.
European football’s governing body say they will continue to closely monitor the situation and will remain in contact with all teams involved before making decisions on new dates and on potential changes to other upcoming fixtures.
Israeli Premier League champions Maccabi Haifa are playing in the Europa League this season and play away at Villarreal following the international break.
Their next home game in the competition is scheduled for November 7, the reverse fixture against the Spanish side.
Hapoel Tel Aviv reported on Sunday that former player Lior Assolin is one of those who has been killed.
