The Premier League returns this weekend following the midweek European fixtures.

Much of the focus will be on the Manchester derby, with United facing City at Old Trafford on Sunday. Tottenham Hotspur, meanwhile, will be looking to extend their lead at the top of the table when they play Crystal Palace in Friday’s clash at Selhurst Park. Arsenal host Sheffield United on Saturday, while Liverpool welcome Nottingham Forest the following day.

Crystal Palace vs Tottenham

Friday, October 27 (8pm BST)

Crystal Palace team news: Jeffrey Schlupp will return to the matchday squad after recovering from a hamstring strain. Nathan Ferguson, though, suffered another injury setback for the Under-21s. Michael Olise, Eberechi Eze, Dean Henderson and James Tomkins are out.

**Tottenham team news: **Pape Sarr has recovered from an illness and is set to play a part this Friday. Ange Postecoglou confirmed that full-back Destiny Udogie needs to be assessed to determine his availability. Ben Davies is fit following a knock. Yves Bissouma is back after suspension, while Ivan Perisic, Manor Solomon, Rodrigo Bentancur, Ryan Sessegnon and Alfie Whiteman remain long-term absentees.

Opta omen: Crystal Palace have won just one of their last 16 Premier League games against Tottenham (D2 L13), a 3-0 home win in September 2021. Their three goals in that game account for 43 per cent of the total they’ve scored against Tottenham in that run (3/7).


Chelsea vs Brentford

**Chelsea team news: **Reece James returned in Chelsea’s 2-2 draw against Arsenal and is likely to play a role on Saturday. Striker Armando Broja is a doubt after missing last weekend’s London derby with a knee injury. Wesley Fofana, Christopher Nkunku, Ben Chilwell, Romeo Lavia, Trevoh Chalobah and Carney Chukwuemeka are out.

**Brentford team news: **Ivan Toney is suspended for Brentford’s trip to Stamford Bridge but Aaron Hickey is free to return after serving a one-game ban against Burnley last weekend. Josh Dasilva is likely to miss out but has resumed light training. Rico Henry, Kevin Schade, Shandon Baptiste, Mikkel Damsgaard and Keane Lewis-Potter remain unavailable with injuries.

Opta omen: Brentford have won both of their Premier League away games against Chelsea – no team has ever won their first three games at Stamford Bridge in the competition.


Arsenal vs Sheffield United

**Arsenal team news: **Gabriel Jesus is a doubt after going off injured in Arsenal’s Champions League win against Sevilla on Tuesday. “He felt something in his hamstring, he had to come off and I’m worried about that,” boss Mikel Arteta said after the game, though Jesus later said: “Let’s see what it is. I was tired, to be honest. I never wanted to go (off) but will always respect the manager.” Thomas Partey needs to be assessed after suffering a muscle injury in training. Jurrien Timber remains out.

Sheffield United team news:George Baldock is edging closer to full fitness and could return this weekend, but strikers Oliver McBurnie — who was substituted early in the second half against Manchester United — and Will Osula are doubts. Paul Heckingbottom is already without Chris Basham, Anel Ahmedhodzic, Rhys Norrington-Davies, John Egan, Tom Davies, Max Lowe and Daniel Jebbison for the trip to the Emirates.

Opta omen: Arsenal are unbeaten in 36 Premier League home games against promoted sides (W31 D5), with their last defeat coming against Newcastle United in November 2010.


Bournemouth vs Burnley

**Bournemouth team news: **USMNT international Tyler Adams is out until at least February after undergoing surgery on a hamstring injury. Midfielder Lewis Cook is suspended. Ryan Fredericks has resumed light training but is likely to be unavailable. Emiliano Marcondes is out with an ankle problem.

Burnley team news: Johann Berg Gudmundsson, Manuel Benson and Hjalmar Ekdal are doubts. Michael Obafemi played for the Under-21s earlier this week, but is still not match-fit following surgery on his hamstring. Connor Roberts is suspended, while Jacob Bruun Larsen is set to miss out.

**Wolves team news: **Nelson Semedo and Mario Lemina are expected to return after serving suspensions. Jean-Ricner Bellegarde is a doubt with a muscle problem, while Hugo Bueno is out with a thigh injury.

Newcastle team news:Alexander Isak is a doubt after going off injured in Newcastle’s 1-0 defeat by Borussia Dortmund. Jacob Murphy is likely to miss out after suffering a shoulder injury in the same game. Sandro Tonali has been banned from all football for 10 months by the Italian Football Federation (FIGC). Sven Botman, Harvey Barnes and Lewis Miley remain sidelined.

**West Ham team news: **Both Aaron Cresswell and Ben Johnson could return after resuming first-team training. David Moyes looks likely to have a fully fit squad ahead of Sunday’s clash at the London Stadium, providing everyone comes through the trip to Olympiakos unscathed.

**Everton team news: **Ashley Young is suspended after being sent off in Everton’s Merseyside derby defeat to Liverpool. Seamus Coleman is back on the grass following a knee injury but is likely to be an absentee, while Andre Gomes is a doubt. Dele Alli remains out.

Aston Villa vs Luton Town

**Aston Villa team news: **Alex Moreno is a doubt and will be assessed ahead of the game. Jacob Ramsey is out with an ankle injury, while Tyrone Mings and Emiliano Buendia are unavailable until next year.

**Luton team news: **Amari’i Bell could return after a hamstring problem but will need to be assessed. Albert Sambi Lakonga, Mads Andersen, Dan Potts, Jordan Clark and Reece Burke remain absent.

Danny Welbeck is also likely to be out for a while due to a hamstring problem. Jakub Moder has begun training with the first team again but won’t be available. Julio Enciso, Pervis Estupinan and Tariq Lamptey are out.

**Fulham team news: **Fulham are likely to be without three key defenders in Tosin Adarabioyo, Kenny Tete and Issa Diop, who all missed Monday’s 2-0 defeat at Tottenham. Adama Traore is expected to miss the trip to the Amex on Sunday.

Liverpool team news:Andy Robertson has had surgery on a shoulder injury so will miss Sunday’s clash at Anfield. Cody Gakpo is expected to be available after recovering from a knee injury, but Curtis Jones is suspended and therefore out for the game. Nottingham Forest team news: Striker Taiwo Awoniyi is a doubt, as is Nuno Tavares, who suffered a groin injury before October’s international break. Callum Hudson-Odoi, Divock Origi, Danilo, Felipe and Gonzalo Montiel are all injured.

Manchester United vs Manchester City

Manchester United team news:Casemiro was suspended for the 1-0 midweek victory against Copenhagen but could return this weekend having resumed training. Kobbie Mainoo featured for the United Under-19s on Tuesday and may return to the first-team set-up. Aaron Wan-Bissaka is edging towards a comeback. Lisandro Martinez, Luke Shaw, Tyrell Malacia and Amad are out, as is Jadon Sancho, who is away from the first team still.

Manchester City team news: Defender Manuel Akanji is suspended after being sent off against Brighton. Pep Guardiola shared concerns over his side playing on an artificial pitch against Young Boys but appeared to avoid any new injuries in the 3-1 win. Kevin De Bruyne remains a long-term absentee with a thigh problem.
