Manchester United, in collaboration with adidas and the visionary creative director Peter Saville, is proud to present a distinctive collection that seamlessly merges the realms of music and football.
Drawing inspiration from an iconic New Order album cover, this premium assortment of licensed apparel and accessories encapsulates the essence of Manchester’s rich cultural heritage.
The collection serves as a homage to the golden age of Manchester in the 1980s, a period when both the football club and the music scene enjoyed some memorable highs. Capturing the spirit of the city, the collaboration incorporates elements from Peter Saville’s colour wheel, infusing a unique Mancunian identity into every piece.
It’s available on United Direct now.
Following the success of last year’s Pulsebeat of Manchester collection, adidas have once again connected two icons of the city for season two of Manchester United x Peter Saville.
Incorporating the city of Manchester’s motto, the collection is rooted in the values of “wisdom and effort” or, in a more contemporary sense, “imagination and hard work”. This fusion perfectly embodies not only the collaboration but also the essence of the city and the club.
Taking cues from Peter Saville’s previous work, the collection pays tribute to the intrinsic connection between music and football, with the design echoing the artistic brilliance of an iconic New Order album cover, creating a synergy that resonates with Manchester’s vibrant culture.

For those eager to delve deeper into the cultural tapestry of Manchester, a limited-edition concept album titled “Sound of Manchester” will be released at Piccadilly Records in Manchester on 3 November to celebrate the release of this collection.
The two-sided album boasts the audio of an undiluted Old Trafford on one side, from United’s season-defining game against Sheffield Wednesday in 1992/93, a campaign which ended in us winning the first-ever Premier League title.
The other side evokes the power of Manchester culture, narrated by poet John Cooper-Clarke. The first 25 purchases at Piccadilly Records will receive one of these exclusive records.
