Tottenham striker Harry Kane has “clearly signalled his decision” to join Bayern Munich, the German club’s honorary president Uli Hoeness has claimed.

The Bundesliga champions had a first bid of €70million plus add-ons for Kane rejected last month but Bayern remain keen to secure the England captain.

Head coach Thomas Tuchel has already discussed a potential move with Kane, and Hoeness, speaking from Bayern’s pre-season training camp said he was confident of landing Tottenham’s record goalscorer if the player “kept his word”.

“Kane has very clearly signalled his decision,” Hoeness said in quotes to SPORT1. “If he keeps his word, we’ll get him. (Chairman) Karl-Heinz Rummenigge speaks to him regularly.”

Kane has one-year remaining on his Spurs contract with the club still hoping to convince him to extend it.

The striker reported to Tottenham for the first day of pre-season on Wednesday and flew with the rest of the squad to Perth, Australia on Friday.

The relationship between the two clubs is good, with Bayern CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen meeting Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy for breakfast in London on Thursday.

No fresh offer for Kane was made at the meeting and nor was any price quoted following Bayern’s initial bid.

Kane’s contract negotiations with Tottenham were put on hold last season season with the striker instead focusing on trying to help the club return to the Champions League.

However, Spurs missed out on European football altogether after an eighth-placed finish.

Kane is yet to win a trophy at domestic or international level but did break Jimmy Greaves’ all-time Tottenham goalscoring record in February when he netted his 267th goal for the club. He became England’s record goalscorer the following month.
