Man United outcast booed after blunder amid West Ham move speculation
Man United outcast Harry Maguire was booed by fans after a blunder in a friendly as the pressure ramps up amid West Ham move speculation.
Speculation reignited this weekend about West Ham moving for Manchester United defender Harry Maguire.
Maguire has been linked with the Hammers for some time and the east Londoners tried to sign him in January. Rumours have intensified ever since West Ham brought in £105m by selling Declan Rice to Arsenal.
There has been claim and counter claim about whether West Ham would meet Man United’s asking price for their deposed captain Maguire – said to be David Moyes’ prime target.
Reports had claimed the Red Devils want as much as £40m for outcast Maguire.
And the England defender has – one more than one occasion – allegedly scoffed at the prospect of a move to West Ham.

Hammers News has put Maguire straight on that matter on more than one occasion , pointing out we are a much bigger club than the others he has represented before his ridiculously over-priced move to Old Trafford.
With that as background – plus his reported £190k per week wages – Maguire moving to West Ham had looked unlikely.
Until a journalist and then a Hammers board confidant confirmed this weekend that the early wheels are in motion on a deal with medical background checks taking place.
Having lost the captaincy and finding himself fourth choice centre-back, things look bleak for Maguire under Erik ten Hag at Man United.
And they got worse on Sunday afternoon.

Maguire’s position at Man United becoming untenable
Many Man United fans have been calling for Maguire to leave. Especially given it has been widely reported Ten Hag needs to raise funds to bring in more signings.
And his position is fast becoming untenable at Manchester United.
Man United fielded their strongest XI for a friendly win over Lens on Saturday with Maguire on the bench. But he started in a second string against Athletic Club – or Athletic Bilbao as most in England will know them – today.
The defender received the ball midway in his own half and tried a clever pass into midfield. But he only managed to play it straight to the Athletic player in front of him and five seconds later the ball was in the back of the Man United net.
Maguire was jeered by supporters but went on to play the rest of the game – the last half an hour against 10 men – as the Red Devils pulled it back to 1-1 in the 93rd minute.
Whether the situation will see Maguire reassess whether he wants to push for a move to West Ham remains to be seen.
One look at social media will make it abundantly clear what many of his own supporters think.
Could it prove to be the straw that breaks the camel’s back?
