League champions now keen on £6m Manchester United talent
Manchester United talent Matej Kovar continues to attract interest with Serbian champions Crvena zvezda now keen on the goalkeeper.
Goalkeepers have dominated the rumour mill when it comes to United this season.
We had the will-they-won’t-they over David De Gea’s future before the Spaniard left on a free transfer.
Then it was all about Andre Onana and completing his move from Inter Milan, with those rumours going on for weeks.
Dean Henderson’s future still isn’t sorted as Nottingham Forest go for another goalkeeper in Matt Turner whilst there has even been interest in Tom Heaton.
If you thought the goalkeeping rumours stopped there though, you are very much mistaken…
Matej Kovar now wanted in Serbia
The Sun now report that Serbian champions Crvena zvezda are joining the race to sign United stopper Matej Kovar.
It’s stated that Sparta Prague – where Kovar spent last season on loan – would love to sign Kovar again but have been priced out.
The race is now on with Hull City and Crvena zvezda allegedly considering ‘more serious offers’ than Sparta can put forward.

Hull would be open to a loan move but if United get a cash offer, Kovar could be sold this summer.
Crvena zvezda – maybe better known as Red Star Belgrade in the UK – have been going through goalkeeping changes this summer.
Long-serving stopper Milan Borjan has been sent to Slovan Bratislava but Crvena zvezda did sign a new stopper in Hapoel Be’er Sheva stopper Omri Glazer.
Maybe Kovar would be seen as top competition for Glazer but it would be a surprise to see Crvena zvezda sign another goalkeeper unless veteran Zoran Popovic is sold.

Aston Villa move wouldn’t make sense for Kovar
This new rumour comes just days after Kovar was linked with a strange move to Aston Villa.
Idnes over in Kovar’s native Czech Republic reported that Villa had joined the race to sign Kovar.
That report suggested United wanted around £6million for Kovar and that Villa fancied landing him.
Yet what Kovar needs at 23 is consistent playing time; he has already made great strides after playing regularly for Sparta.
Going and sitting behind Emiliano Martinez and Robin Olsen at Villa – or even Glazer at Crvena zvezda – just doesn’t quite add up.
Kovar has real talent and whilst we would selfishly like to see him serve as cover for Andre Onana, it would be great to see him flourish as first-choice elsewhere.
